JTeach Academy is a Private School which offers year-long Jewish and secular studies courses that follow the Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines.

JTeach Academy is a student centric designed learning experience for today’s Jewish high school student embracing the very best of today’s learning environments. JTeach Academy offers high school students of public and private schools the opportunity to learn in an environment with smaller teacher to student ratios providing for differentiated instruction that meets individual students’ needs. Central to the JTeach Academy philosophy is providing each and every student with excellence in education while at the same time connecting them to their Jewish identities.

JTeach Academy’s courses are provided in a hybrid format that combines both asynchronous and synchronous classes, in person learning and, for some courses, learning in conjunction with course trips. Unique to JTeach Academy is the collaboration with Jewish organizations and agencies in the development of our courses combining the very best in pedagogy with real world experience.

JTeach Academy’s administration and teaching staff are comprised of professionally trained educators with decades of teaching experience. We offer our staff continual professional development designed to increase and improve our teaching excellence.

JTeach Academy is committed to providing our students with quality courses applicable towards their secondary school diploma.  JTeach Academy adhere to all curriculum expectations as defined and outlined by the Ministry of Education in the applicable Curriculum Documents and Growing Success.

We strive to help all of our students to reach their highest academic potential through the provision of teaching and learning excellence, while connecting our students to aspects of their Jewish identities in order to connect them to their spiritual, traditional and cultural heritage.

Note: Students must remain in secondary school until the age of eighteen or until they have obtained an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

JTeach Academy offers non-semestered courses running from the end of September until the first week of June and the first three weeks of July for courses with an experiential learning trip, and until mid-June for all other courses. Term 1 commences in September and runs to January.  Term 2 begins in February and runs until June (July for courses with an Israel trip). Classes take place once a week for two consecutive 75 minute periods.

JTeach Academy classes are offered in a hybrid learning format which include online learning, in-person classes, and experiential learning.

In-person learning classes are held at the Schwartz Reisman Centre at 9600 Bathurst Street, Vaughan, Ontario.

As Principal and senior administrator of JTeach Academy, Rabbi Corey Margolese is responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of the Ministry of Education protocols. The principal is authorised by the Ontario Ministry of Education to grant credit and uphold credit integrity for the courses taught at JTeach Academy. In addition to overseeing and managing the JTeach Academy teachers, school communications, and curriculum development, he also oversees the assessment and evaluation of teachers and works with teachers on pedagogical skills while implementing all teacher requirements. Rabbi Corey also teaches courses offered by JTeach Academy.

Every high school in Ontario distributes an annual course calendar, which describes the courses offered by the school in the coming year. The calendar also provides information on school policies, sets out expectations of students’ responsibilities, achievements, and attendance, and outlines the school’s code of conduct.

The JTeach Academy course calendar can be found on our website: https://jteachacademy.com .  A physical copy of the school course calendar can be mailed directly to parents or students upon request.
